Watercolor Workshop Session I
A class for young people interested in learning the basics of tube
watercolor painting. Students will learn to mix colors, work with various
types of mediums including wet on wet, dry brush and other types of
techniques. Class fee includes good quality tube watercolor paints, brush,
and watercolor paper that the student can take home at the end of class.

Gyotaku/Japanese Fish Prints
Create one-of-a-kind Gyotaku prints like the Japanese master print makers.
Special printing inks and paper will be provided and assorted fish. You will
be amazed at the natural beauty of these prints! All materials included in

Cave Painting
Students learn about pre-historic cave paintings and use some of the
materials and tools used by ancient people to create their own “cave
paintings.” All materials included.

Papermaking for Children
Learn the basics of papermaking you can do at home. Pouring tubs will be
available for all ages with many embellishments for you to add to your
creations. Papermaking recipes, demonstrations and instructions will be
provided. All materials are included in this class that will get your
creative juices flowing and teach you to recycle household items into
beautiful cards, holiday decorations, original wall art and more. This is a
great class for parents or grandparents to attend with their children or
grandchildren.

Treasure Boxes
Decorate your own keepsake box for your special treasures or make a treasure
box as a gift for a special friend. You can choose how you wan to design the
exterior and the interior of your box with various types of paint, fabric
and special items that will make your treasure box unique. Box, paint,
fabrics, and other materials included in class fee. A project you are sure
to treasure!

Nature Prints
Art is all around us in nature. Explore the use of natural materials to
create one-of-a-kind prints made from nature. Leaves, flowers, fruits and

Sand Painting
Native American sand painters have created designs on the southwest desert
floor for centuries. Learn about the sand painters and how they make their

A two day book signings will be held for the popular photo essay book of  Miami County ,  “Miami’s Pride, A Portrait of  A County” on Friday ,April 23rd  from  10am-1pm  and Saturday, April 24 from 12-5pm at the eclectic artisan’s  gift shop “Really Cool Stuff’, in West Milton.

Local Troy author and artist Karen Purke will be available  to sign books and to answer questions about her original photographs and paintings  featured in the book that documents all of Miami County’s townships and communities in a color glossy 112 page classical presentation format ,perfect for coffee table viewing .
