Plant It Pink is a new campaign aimed at informing Ohio residents about the need for advocacy in the fight against breast cancer and to raise the funds necessary for ACS CAN to continue its lifesaving work. The campaign will begin in May with a media kick-off event, continue through the summer and culminate in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with donors picking up their boxes of tulips and taking legislative action in the fight against breast cancer. When the flowers bloom the following spring, it will again remind people of those diagnosed, serve as a reminder for women to get their screening and provide an additional opportunity to publicize ACS CAN and breast cancer. How can you help fight Breast Cancer? Join us as we plant 8,000 Pink Impression tulip bulbs in Northwest Ohio in honor of the 8,000 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in Ohio this year. Make a donation today and receive bulbs for your home or business, and join in the fight against breast cancer. For a $20 donation you will receive 10 Pink Impression tulip bulbs and a membership to ACS CAN. A membership to ACS CAN includes an ACS CAN Membership Card, a Legislative Toolkit, Access to “Members Only” content on www.acscan.org and a Monthly Newsletter with “Members Only” premium content. Tulip bulbs can be picked up at Siebenthaler’s 6000 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, OH 45459 October 11, 2010 from 9:00 am—5:00 pm For more information please visit www.acscan.org/daytonplantitpink or contact Marianne Farmer at 888.227.6446 ext. 4010 Contributions or gifts to the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Inc. are not tax deductible New Installation Local Signature Piece by landscape photographer Kate Fallucca of KT Designs 05/26/2010
By Kate Fallucca I am proud to announce the installation of my landscape photography at 2 different venues: - The Dayton City Paper at 126 North Main Street, Suite 240, Dayton, OH 45402 http://www.daytoncitypaper.com Artist Statement Snyder Park Bridge In Winter was taken when in March of 2007 when I was visiting Ohio before moving here. I took a drive through this local park that now I drive through at least twice a week. It was a snowy winter day and the bridge just called to me with its rustic river-stone look. I have taken several other pictures of this bridge at different times of the year. Aztec Ruins Doorway was taken 2006 on a cool autumn day. Aztec Ruins is a small community in Aztec New Mexico. These Pueblo people flourished between 1000 and 1200s when they moved north to the Four Corners region. You can almost feel their presence as you walk through door after door after door to the sun-soaked wall at the back. CJ Brown Reservoir Overflow as taken when I was visiting in March of 2007 when I was visiting Ohio before moving here. I had just left Buck Creek State Park and pulled into a parking area to take a picture of the bottom of the reservoir. I heard water, walked over a bridge, climbed through some bushes and saw what I heard.
