Troy, OH- Szabo Media, parent company of the Post News Network, announced on Monday that its popular internet television channel known as "MCP TV" found on its MiamiCountyPost.com website is to be re-branded immediately as "postTV".

The move, a part of the massive overhaul of the site and the local news network currently being developed, is designed to allow the channel greater flexibility of not only programming, but demographics and potential advertising revenue as well. In addition, the new moniker alludes to the gradual transition in America from television as the primary entertainment media, to the Internet, noted by the new and catchy channel slogan: "beyond television".

Yet, for the immediate future, the channel that has been a part of MiamiCountyPost.com since it's alpha launch last March, will remain focused on locally produced content and programming. Szabo Media has said that current program lineups and broadcasts, including live Troy Bruins minor league hockey games, will continue under the new look channel. It is expected that programming will be expanded and improved upon in the next few weeks and months as well.

MiamiCountyPost.com has begin soliciting programming ideas and submissions from the Miami County public, in similar fashion to a public broadcaster, but will also be starting production on a number of unique in-house programs by early spring 2010. Those wishing to submit ideas or programs are asked to do so by emailing "submit@miamicountypost.com" with their idea or short sample.
