Wooster, Ohio - The Troy Bruins improved to a perfect 3-0-0 in NJHL action with a thrilling come from behind victory over in-state rival Wooster Oilers on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first period, offense flourished in the middle frame, with Bruins veteran forward #8 Josh Tucker once again leading the charge, scoring the first two Troy goals. Tucker would add a pair in the third, securing his second hat trick this season.

In the third, physicality escalated, and the Bruins found themselves in the penalty box on several occasions; and as a result, Wooster would pull away with a 6-3 lead at the midway mark of the third period. Yet, despite the deficit, the Bruins battled back and tied the score thanks to the two Tucker goals and a tying score from #2 Sean Hagerty, before captain Lee McClure lit the red lamp for what would eventually become the game-winner.

With a perfect 3-0-0 record, the Bruins are now in sole possession of first place, and are the only remaining undefeated team in the NJHL. Wooster, who celebrated their home opener Saturday night, and who was unbeaten coming into the weekend, now drops their record to 2-1-0.

Elkins Park, PA- The Troy Bruins opened the inaugural 2009-2010 NJHL season with a bang, overcoming an early deficit to defeat the Philadelphia Thunder on the road 8-3 Saturday night.

On their home opener, the Philadelphia Thunder used their size and comfort to take control from the opening faceoff, with Thunder forward Kyle Pelke scoring the first goal of the game at the 11:39 mark.

Immediately following the Thunder go ahead goal, the Bruins seemed to shake their first game jitters, getting down to business. History struck at the 10:08 mark of the first period, as Bruins forward Derek McPherson found the back of the net, scoring the first goal in team history.

The game wouldn't remain tied for long however, as the Bruins stuck for the second time just 67 seconds later, this time credited to Bruins forward Erik Levin, to take Troy's first lead of the night. After twenty minutes, the Bruins held a one goal lead, with shots on goal even at 12-12.

Troy stepped on the ice for the start of the second period displaying more confidence, but with another quick Philadelphia goal (2) to start, the Bruins were once again faced with a tie game. Leading the charge was veteran forward Josh Tucker, scoring the go ahead goal (3-2) with 9:52 left in the middle period. The Bruins would not look back, thanks to a pair of back to back even strength goals by Aaron Huber, the Bruins now boasted a 5-2 lead on the home Thunder.

Capitalizing on a K's Hamburgers powerplay, veteran forward Sean Hagerty closed out the Bruins scoring in the second period, assisted by Huber and Tucker. With a last minute icing call against the Bruins, Philadelpia was in position to score, and did so with just .4 remaining on the scoreboard to end the period 6-3. In the second, the Bruins out shot the Thunder 16-8 for a 40-minute tally of 28-20 Bruins.

In the third period, it was all Troy throughout, as the Bruins notched two goals; first a K's powerplay goal by Bruins captain Lee McClure at the 7:19 mark, and a breakaway goal by McPherson at 6:24. Philadelphia was held scoreless in the period off of their 6 shots on goal. Troy recorded 16 for a game total of 44-26 Troy.
