WILMA F. FOSTER  

Wilma F. Foster, 89, of 1308 South St., Piqua, died at 7:21 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at her residence.  She was born March 17, 1921, in Piqua, to the late Samuel and Mary (Heckerman) Pryfogle.  She married Ralph F. Foster on January 20, 1945 in Piqua; he preceded her in death on December 18, 2001.
 


Mrs. Foster is survived by two sons, Douglas (Mary Beth) Foster of Covington, and Dennis (Mary) Foster of Rockledge, Fla.; four grandchildren, Erin (Andy) Turner, Andrew, Betsy, and Colin Foster; a great-grandson, Tucker Turner; and a sister, Phyllis Malone of Piqua.  She was preceded in death by five brothers, William, George, Clifford, Henry, and Samuel Pryfogle; and two sisters, Anna Burke and Mildred Manning. 


Wilma was a 1943 graduate of Piqua Central High School.  She was a member of Piqua Church of the Brethren and a former member of Grace United Methodist Church.  She retired in 1983 from the former Medalist Company and was a member of the Medalist Retirees Club.  She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. 


A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Lutz officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. ELVA L. (MILLHOUSE) DUFF 


Elva L. (Millhouse) Duff, 97 formerly of Ohio, more recently of Odenton Maryland, passed away peacefully Thursday May 20, 2010 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, Maryland with her daughter and son-in-law at her bedside.  She was born in Ohio October 20, 1912 to the late Edgar and Emma Ursula (Schulz) Millhouse. She married Bernard Duff March 28, 1952; and he preceded her in death. 


Survivors include a daughter, Jacquelyn (Lyndall) Debar of Odenton, Maryland; a step-son, Ronnie Duff of Baltimore; a grandson, Joseph Dixon of Odenton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ohio.  She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters who had lived in Ohio. 


Mrs. Duff was a 1930 graduate of Covington High School, worked in Wheeling West Virginia in banking, and retired from the Odenton Post Office.  She loved to cook, bake, and shop at Super Fresh where she enjoyed riding the electric cart.  She was a member of the Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church of Odenton where she was very active with their oyster dinners, and a fifty-year member of the Odenton Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #29.  She and Catherine O’Malley spent many hours with the Brownies and Girl Scouts programs. 


A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. MARY HELEN DILL 


Mary Helen Dill, 85, of 1847 Park Ave., Piqua, died at 3:05 pm Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Upper Valley Medical Center.  She was born April 21, 1925 in Darke Co., to the late Clarence and Margaret (Dunn) Walker.  She married William R. Dill August 26, 1961 in Piqua; he preceded her in death June 4, 2005. 


Survivors include two daughters, Dixie (Bill) Patterson of Miamisburg, Vicki (Randy) Shook of Piqua; four grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Janet) Walker of Sarasota, Fla., Clarence “Buck” (Pat) Walker of Piqua; and two sisters, Lucille Samson and Frances M. Mauchamer both of Sarasota, Fla.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, and a sister. 


Mrs. Dill retired from the Container Corporation as an Inspector following thirty years of employment.  She was a member of the Family of Grace United Methodist Church, and enjoyed playing cards and reading.

RICHARD H. BURNS 


Richard H. Burns, 96, of 1107 Lake St., Piqua, died at 8:55 am Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home.  He was born February 2, 1914 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Arlie and Mary E. (Teipen) Burns.  He married Lillian M. Coffield July 7, 1934 in Russia; she preceded him in death November 6, 2004. 


Survivors include a son, Robert M. (Karen Hayslett) Burns of Piqua; a grandson, Brian Burns of Ashville, North Carolina.  He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. 


Mr. Burns was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #523, and the Border City Luncheon Club.  He owned and operated Dick Burns Sign Service in Piqua for over sixty years. 


A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Jamieson& Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. MURRAY R. TRIBBETT 


Murray R. Tribbett, 65 of 1327 Ridgeway Ave., Piqua, died at 1:58 am Monday, May 17, 2010 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.  He was born December 18, 1944 in Galion to the late Murray C. and Betty J. (Brooks) Tribbett.  He married Sue A. Long Jun 28, 1969 in Lafayette; and she survives. 


Other survivors include a son, Jeffery M. Tribbett of Anna; and a granddaughter, Breonna L. Tribbett. 


Mr. Tribbett was a 1963 graduate of Piqua Central High School and obtained his Degree in Education from Ohio Northern University in 1968.  He retired from the Piqua City School District following twenty-five years of teaching, both at Bennett Junior High School, then Piqua High School.  He enjoyed traveling and photography. 


The family will receive friends to celebrate his life from 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.  Private burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery on Friday.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Piqua Community Foundation, P. WILLIAM R. VETTERS 


William R. Vetters, 59 of 407 Tamala Ave., Anna, died at 3:55 am Saturday, May 15, 2010 at his residence.  He was born December 18, 1950 in Piqua to the late Elwood and Mildred (Rodgers) Vetters.  He married Betty J. Freeman November 24, 1985 in Troy; and she survives. 


Other survivors include a son, Dennis Vetters of Columbus; two step-children, Rebecca (Ed) Reed and Robert Snell all of Sidney; three grandchildren, Debbie Arnett, Randy Arnett, Dustin Arnett; and his first wife Wanda Duncan Vetters of Troy.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Vetters Arnett. 


Mr. Vetters was a 1969 graduate of Piqua Central High School, attended Edison and Sinclair colleges and retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement.  As an active member of Lighthouse Ministries Church in Sidney he served as its caretaker and loved his church family.  He enjoyed working on his ’39 Chevy Coupe, and NASCAR, especially Jimmie Johnson.

FRANK V. KRACH JR. 


Frank V. “Butch” Krach Jr., 66, of Houston, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at his residence.  He was born October 19, 1943, in Piqua, to the late Frank V. Sr. and Rita M. (Wehner) Krach.  He married Deborah Lynn Parson on October 17, 1975 in Piqua; she survives. 


Mr. Krach is also survived by an unofficially adopted son, Tim “Sunshine” Gilmore of Houston; and a brother, Paul (Phyllis) Krach of Piqua.  


Butch was a graduate of Houston High School and retired from the former Miller-Meteor Company.  He was a former member of the Houston Rescue Squad and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and auto repair.

MARY CATHERYN (ANDERSON) KOMMER 


Mary Catheryn (Anderson) Kommer, 84, of 1805 Carol Dr., Piqua, died at 1:25 am Wednesday May 12, 2010 at Heartland of Piqua Nursing Home.  She was born April 8, 1926 in Polk County, Georgia to the late James C. and S. Classo (Willis) Grimes, Sr. She married Dewey L. Anderson October 20, 1945 in Cedartown, Ga.; he preceded her in death October 12, 1970.  She then married Warren D. Kommer September 22, 1973 in Piqua and he preceded her in death May 3, 2005. 


Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Jean (Lloyd) Ervin of Piqua; three grandchildren, Craig (Lee Ann) Weer, Michael (Karen) Weer, Stephen Weer; six great grandchildren, Ben, Jacob, Emma, Ashley, Rhys, Carter; and two brothers, Clyde (Beverly) Grimes of Clayton, and Graham Grimes, Sr. of Rome, Ga.  She was preceded in death by two brothers. 


Mrs. Kommer retired from the Orr Felt Company in 1988 following thirty-six years of service.  She was a member of Piqua Baptist Church.

DORIS E. SKINNER 


Doris E. Skinner, 85 of 810 S. Roosevelt Avenue, Piqua, died at 7:48 am Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Brookdale-Sterling House of Piqua.  She was born October 9, 1924 in Piqua to the late Emerson R. and Muriel M. (Booher) Apple.  She married F. Cecil Skinner March 21, 1942 in Winchester, Indiana; he preceded her in death June 18, 1999. 


Survivors include two daughters, Deborah E. (Donald) Nicodemus of Piqua, Connie L. (Richard) Middleton of Sidney; nine grandchildren, Mike Middleton, Pat (Re) Middleton, David (Jill) Middleton, Rick (Shannon) Middleton, Lisa (Jim) Meckstroth, Tammy (Greg) Patrick, Steve (Barbara) Nicodemus, Cecilie Joy (Dave) Dearth, Anne (Randy) Jones; twenty-two great grandchildren; and eleven great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Pearson, two brothers, Roy and Gerald Apple, and another sister, Gladys Pollock of Piqua who died Monday. 


Mrs. Skinner was a 1942 graduate of Piqua Central High School, and along with her husband, owned and operated F. C. Skinner Painting Service, Inc.  In addition, she was the owner and a Stylist at the Fanci Flair Beauty Salon.  She was an Instructor at the Carousel Beauty School of Dayton for six years, and a Swimming Instructor at the Miami County YMCA for twelve years.  She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.

MARY E. DIVENS 


Mary E. Divens, 76 of 1000 Brook St., Piqua, died at 7:20 am Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at her residence.  She was born December 14, 1933 in Piqua to the late John and Ada (Campbell) Polhamus.  She married Leroy E. Divens December 28, 1951 in Pleasant Hill; and he survives. 


Other survivors include two sons, Leroy E. (DeDe) Divens, Jr. of Sidney, Donald F. (Joanne) Divens of Troy; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Cliff (Ruth) Polhamus of Piqua, George (Janet) Polhamus of Troy; and a sister, Tiny Burch of Jackson Center.  She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. 


Mrs. Divens was a graduate of Piqua Central High School and retired from the former Container Corp. (Sonoco Products).  She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, bowling, and violets.
