RAYMOND A. “RED” COPSEY 


Raymond A. “Red” Copsey, 95, of 606½ Riverside Dr., Piqua, died at 1:10 am Friday, March 5, 2010 at his residence.  He was born January 31, 1915 in Greene County, Ohio to the late William Lawson and Hattie L. (Thomas) Copsey.  He married Ruth V. DeNise July 29, 1937 in Winchester, Indiana; and she survives. 


Other survivors include a daughter, Sally (Donald) Apple of Piqua; two sons, Terry R. (Beverly) Copsey of Piqua, Randy A. (Constance) Copsey of Piqua; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Copsey, a brother, and four sisters. 


Mr. Copsey graduated from Houston High School in 1932.  He owned and operated a Service Station and Carry-Out in Piqua for twenty years and then worked at J M Mold Company for twenty years.  He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #523 in Piqua. 


A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 am Monday, March 8, 2010 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kazy Blocher-Hinds officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm Sunday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 325 W.
