ALAN BRENT SNYDER
Alan Brent Snyder, 69, formerly of 1555 Lexington Ave., Troy, died at 11:35 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was born November 21, 1940, in Piqua, to the late Leonard and Ruth (Adams) Snyder. He married Judith R. Leach on December 22, 1962 in Litchfield; she preceded him in death on June 21, 1989. He then married Candise Chrisman on January 7, 2000 in Troy; she survives.
Mr. Snyder is also survived by two sons, Scott (Jenifer) Snyder of Lafayette, Ind., and Mark Aaron (Debbie) Laux of Dublin; three daughters, Susan Lewis of Bowling Green, Mona (Tim) Anderson of Troy, and Heather (William) Smith of Troy; and ten grandchildren, Kristen, Ethan, Cody, Billy, Caleb, Drew, Rachel, Hannah, Isabella, and Chloe. He was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Snyder; and a grandson, Noah Anderson.
Brent was a 1958 graduate of Piqua Central High School and attended Defiance College. He served in the Army National Guard and was a former member of the Congregational Christian United Church of Christ. He was also a former member of the Piqua Kiwanis Club, and worked for the Piqua Daily Call, Troy Daily News, and retired from Paxar Graphics.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Murdock officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45206; or Ohio Parkinson Foundation, 325 N. Third St., Fairborn, OH 45324.
