CHAD TURNER
Chad Turner, 93, of 610 First St., Piqua, died at 2:50 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was born September 3, 1916 in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late William H. and Susan (Smith) Turner. He married Agnes Collins on January 6, 1938 in Putney, Kentucky; she preceded him in death on October 26, 1990.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn (Robert) Rapp of Zolfo Springs, Florida, Wanda (Ronnie) Pack of Piqua; five grandchildren, William D. Rapp, Debbie Gover, Korena Weber, Donald Rapp, and Katherine Silvers-Huber; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson; three brothers; and seven sisters.
Mr. Turner attended schools in Kentucky and retired from the Shipping Department of the former Miami Industries in Piqua. After his retirement, he worked part-time at the former Piqua East Mall. He enjoyed eating out at restaurants and traveling.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 18, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45206.
