MARY “CAROL” WOODS
Mary “Carol” Woods, 88, formerly of Piqua and Venice, Florida, died at 5:31 pm Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Trinity Nursing Home, Beavercreek. She was born May 17, 1922 in Troy to the late Walter E. and Carrie Mae (Lumpp) Barnett. She married Robert F. Woods July 12, 1941 in Troy; he preceded her in death August 6, 1999.
Survivors include four daughters, Bobbie (Ray) Brooks of Xenia, Linda (John) Heasley of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Barbara Blankenbeckler of Wilmington, Marcia Smith of Kettering; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Helke, a brother, Howard Barnett, and a son-in-law, Kenneth Smith.
Mrs. Woods was a 1940 graduate of Troy High School, and the office manager at Piqua Automotive, Inc. for thirty years. She was a former member of Piqua Baptist Church, YWCA of Piqua, and served seventeen years on the PTA at Favorite Hill Elementary School.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Wardle officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
